Hand washing:
- Turn inside out, if possible
- Place in a mesh bag to protect from pulls
- Dissolve a mild soap (preferably baby shampoo) in cool water. Soak 3-5 minutes.
- Gently allow the water to flush thru the fiber. Do not wring, twist or scrub, as this can cause felting.
- Rinse 2-3 times in clean, cool water. Press excess water.
- Lay garment on a towel and gently roll up in the towel
- Press gently without wringing or squeezing.
- Ease garment back into shape and lay flat to dry.
Rugs, Pillows, Blankets, Hats, Scarves, Coats, Jackets and Any Non-Washable Items
- Dry clean these items, preferably using organic methods
- Brushing: You may brush your alpaca fleece gently with a wire pet brush or hairbrush. This works particularly well when the fibers get matted from sitting or lying on the item.
- Spot cleaning: With a sponge, use mild soap (preferably baby shampoo) and cool water.
